Mixing half a melon

Since we didn't ate any fruit in Barcelona, I now crave for fruit. This morning I made melon popsicles: I mixed half a melon, added Lipton Green Tea with Citrus (I needed some fluid to get the melon mixed and this was the best option nearby) and fresh lemon juice. After filling the mold I mixed the rest with a frozen yoghurt popsicle and got a fresh smoothie that way.

Barcelona

Today I came home from a lastminutecitytrip to Barcelona with a good friend of mine. Two years ago she lived there for three months. We stayed at a friends appartment near Place d'Espagne and had a great time eating and relaxing. The main theme for this trip was relaxing.

Oh boy, and now I have to go back to my studybooks, because next week the exams start again.

Experiment with flash

Yesterday I experimented using the flash outdoors with changeable weather. The flashlight adds a little drama and makes it possible to photograph sharp pretty easy.

Picknick

Today I went to picknick in a beautiful setting. There were a few guided walks, different activities (like fishing for tomatoes), there were wannabe-cowboys and I enjoyed gathering information from organisations (like the beekeepers!) that take care of our local nature.

First picture: A fauna field in a forest where people normally aren't allowed. This is sown for bees and butterflies, but also for birds, deer and other wildlife.

Second picture: The farmer who was the host for a big picknick holds calfs for their meat.

Corvus monedula

Many people don't like these birds, because they are black and make them think about ravens. When I spot them, I watch and smile. They are pretty intelligent, have blue eyes and they walk like a sir.

Every evening they come together in big groups to sleep in the trees. Today and yesterday I saw them sitting together at roofs near the trees. Talks around sunset are the best to have.

These flowers stand in my grandmothers garden. She died yesterday.

French fries

My homegrown potatoes just had to become french fries. Today I made time to bake them.

At the beach

Take water & sand, store the clouds in your closet at home and add sun. Perfect recipe for a day off.

Eierkoek

Google translates eierkoeken into pancakes. In my opinion an eierkoek is totally different from a pancake. I would call it a "Eggbiscuitcookiething" if I had to translate this word.

Today I used this recipe to bake a thin eierkoek. The original eierkoeken are thicker, but these ones filled my stumach pretty well too.

The second photo is why you should never put hard things near a working mixer. The fork bent around the whisks and in that second the mixer and fork both got messed up.

Running

Three times a week I train so I will be able to run five kilometers by the end of August. I planned to run today. I also changed my plans to run at least five times. Still in doubt as we speak.
